I'm sorry the frog was hurt. It's good that you separated them. The frog can live without a leg as long as it doesn't become infected. To reduce infection, add a tablespoon per 3 gallons or so of aquarium salt and MelaFix by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals. Keep the water clean (frequent partial water changes), well aerated and filtered, and don't forget the dechlorinator.

If you see white bacteria or fuzzy white fungus start to grow on the wound, then treat with antibiotics and/or antifungals as well. The medications are slightly risky for the frog but if a bad infection sets in, the frog won't recover. I hope he doesn't get an infection!

Bettas, goldfish, guppies, paradise fish, ADF, ghost shrimp, minnows and mystery snails are just some of the creatures tortured in bowls. You should move the betta to 10 gallon.

I know a gal who put a betta & a paradise in the same tank & the betta came out worse for wear. O guess it just depends on how aggresive each fish is. No all male bettas are aggressive & not all male paradise are either. My first male paradise wasn;t nearly as aggressive as the current guy. He's killed a Chinese algae eater, 2 otos, and a snal for getting too close to his nest. The other one could've cared less.
