Title: Danios
Description: My glowlight danios

My glowlight danios are redder than my neighbors glowlight danios. The vet said they are free of disease. Is this a natural mutation?

Intensity of color can vary with the same fish even depending on things like background color, age, temperature, other things in the tank, breeding or not, and so forth. Your two batches of fish could be genetically similar or maybe not. You had a vet check your fish?

The picture didn't come through. You said these were glowlight danios but I'm thinking you may mean Glofish where are genetically modified zebra danios and a lot easier to find sold at a store.

As mine are glofish waht are my neighbors fish. My neighbor has fish similar to the fish on the your danio page. Also glofish are illegal in the Uk where i live. How shall i discrad them? Glowlight danios are alloud. The fish are not harmed in the process (they are not painted) they have just got anemone and jellyfish genes inside them.

Oh, then you may have glowlight danios. My page on them is at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/fire.htm
If your fish look like that instead of a zebra danio that's bright red, then you may have the glowlight danios and not glofish. Glofish are modified and born that abnormal color. They are not dyed but not natural either. If you do have glofish, I doubt anyone's going to come after you! Just keep the fish until their days end naturally, hopefully.
