Wow! It's great to see your enthusiasm> I remember when my first female betta laid eggs & when my first paradise fish laid eggs. Thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Congratulations & let us know how it goes. Have nice day!

Female goldfish normally don't lay eggs without a male present but they can. Usually, they reabsorb the eggs. Maybe the Janitor fish turned her on? Anyway, the eggs are not fertile if she is the only goldfish in there. Remove them as they will foul the water. Good luck with your fish!

robyn thanks for your quick response...
I was really excited seeing those eggs - yup val your right - its seems its the coolest thing in the world B) and kept telling to my friends around and let them look at her ...

but then since there's no male to fertilize the eggs i have to dispose them for they may foul the water....

i'm in between emotion  .... as it is my first time for her - with eggs ....

by this time i am choosing a male red oranda and quarantine him first before putting him (anyway her name is gaffy - well i thought "she's a he" (lol) :D ) in gaffy's place.... am I right????

yup... robyn your right - she got septicemia - it's been on and off.... i think when she's stressed and when I didn't change the water partially - more reds on her fins appear... if those red gets a little bigger - i gave her e.m. tablets (erythromycin 200mg)...

i partially change water twice a week and on saturday 80% water change...

today i'll change water 85% - its beginning to smell....

she seems alright and back to her habits - unlike yesterday after laying all the eggs she's a bit tired i guess - coz i saw her sitting on the aquarium floor - looks like she's sleeping.... and if she saw me moving towards her she's starts swimming like a dolphin.... turning and quiggling her tail fins - i'm used to that it means she's gonna be fed again (lol) :D - she really reacts - she even stare at me when i'm talking to her.....

thats all for now ....

thanks guys for your support .... :D ... i really luvvv this site.....

What size tank is she in? If it's big enough, weekly 50% water changes should be enough. I don't change more than 50% except in emergencies as large water changes are stressful (changing the water quality and lowering oxygen levels at first).
