I found a striped mud turtle and have taken care of him for three years. My mom wants me to get rid of him because his tank is taking up too much room in the kitchen. Does anyone know of a place in Orlando Florida that I can bring him to have him taught how to eat/survive on his own? He is only three inches big and I am afraid to let him go into a lake where he would have turtle problems.
It is probably too late to release him as he's used to people. It may be possible; I'm not sure. Here is the Florida turtle club's site. You should ask them what the laws are there and where you could take him. Good luck!
