Title: To Robyn
Description: cornmeal suggestion

SadieMay - July 24, 2006 10:45 PM (GMT)
There was a little note in one of the pages about using cornmeal to curb suspended algae. I tried it in my middle ( 50 gal. ) pond. I put the bulk of it in a punctured plastic bag and it started working before my beagle pulled it out all over the yard. I'll be sinking some more tommorrow where the dog can't get it. My 600 gal. pond has more sun and is the big producer but the fish and snails are in there. Thanks.
ps..how do you put a pic IN the message? I can't find how to do it.

I've never used corn meal myself but have heard of using it. It's an older remedy. I try to list all the various things I've heard of to control algae. Corn meal is messy but I'm glad it seems to help your pond (if not feed your dog and allow him to enjoy making a mess).
