:) I have, so far, fished out ten baby green tree frogs from my wheelbarrow nursery. I put them in a more shallow container with water and a log and placed it under a tree. I put 10 babies in and now only have 3 remaining in the container, I have seen three forrageing in and around the dish.
Of the remainer of the tadpoles some have large male guppy type tails and are lighter in color than the rest of the sixty or so babies. ;)
Did I do right by putting the tree frogs into a shallow container? They were trying to climb out of the wheelbarrow and are so cute!!
My first impulse was to buy an aquarium and keep one or two of the tree frogs, but I couldn't stand the thought of them being caged for the rest of their lives.
Thank you so much for your advice earlier. It looks like I am going to be nurting tadpoles for the rest of the summer. The ones in the plant saucer will be ready for the wheelbarrow as these older ones move on. :)
The froglets were glad you put them in the shallow dish and let them live their froggy lives. They need to hang around water for a few days once they've morphed and remain well hydrated before they will crawl off into the trees as their name implies. If prevented from getting out of a container of water, they would eventually perish.
