Every day i find a bunch if white hair flotting on the surface. it is about an inch. dose anyone know what it is. what will happen if my fish(2 inch long) eats it?

Is this fur or something that looks like white hair but is not? If it's actual fur, could it be the fur from a dog or deer? Most fish won't eat fur/hair, but if they do, it should just pass through them and hopefully not get hung up.

If it's not actual fur, it could be tufts from cattails, dead hair algae, fungal strands, or something else. None of those should hurt the fish if they eat them but they really shouldn't be interested. Fungal strands tend to be pretty long and nasty, and you certainly don't want those in a pond.
