Title: Possum Problem
Description: its attacking my goats!!

hey can any one help me find a safe way to get rid of a possum?? for some reason he is getting in my goat pen and attacking them!! i am not sure if he is after their sweet feedor what but i heard them yelling lasy night at about 3 am and went out and the possum was really attacking my little buck!!! any ideas on this? ;)

I sure hear strange things in this forum! I've never heard of opossums being aggressive like that. Can you close the goats up in a barn or something that the opossums can't get into? They probably were there for the food so maybe you could put some food out away from the goats for the opossums or put up the goats food at night.

well i found out what my problem was!! under neath my "goat" dog house the possum had made a little home. our neighbors behind us had logged out some trees and i guess ran the possums out so the first feesible place the found to hide the babies was under the goats house it sits a little off the ground and has ramps for gotas to run on and there was enough room for the little family. so we called in someone to live trap them and reloacate!! so problem solved!! and everyone is much happpier now!!

yes i do have some sorry it took so long!! my batteries went out on my camera and i kept forgetting to get some!! always forget something at the store!! so i took some this morning. this was the first time that we had had any unwanted animals at our house!! they wouldnt have been unwanted but they were being mean to my goats!! i guess defending the babies!! they we kinda cute. well as cute a a possum can be i guess!!

Are ALL of the opposums gone? How many babies? I feel so sorry for all of these animals.....their woods are disappearing!! :(

yea they are all gone we called a wild life agency and they relocated them together to a park about 45 minutes from here. there were 6 babies and 2 adults. on of the babies was hurt but i the ranger said it was probly due to either falling from tree or something got it while its momma was moving him/her. i really dont care for possums to much but i hate to see any animal have thier home tore down so we wanted them relocated for their safety and my goats!! we had to take my little girl to the vet b/c she got to curious and one bit her.
