My friend found odd balls from lake. Someone said they are ramshorn eggs. My guestion is how big they can be? The box on the image is about 2.0 inc.

Place they found is here in Finland.

Those are not snail eggs. They are way too big as well as they don't look at all like snail eggs.
The lighting isn't quite right for me to make out the details of the balls. Are they hard or soft? Do they have any features (texture, openings?)? What color are they (they appear brown but that could be the lighting). They look similar to waterlily tubers or other plants root balls. If they are squishy, then they may be algae balls or bryozoan colonies.
Thanks for clearing that up. I've never seen cyanobacteria that look like that. Now I will know when I get asked a similar question again. So, they were sort of algae balls (albeit blue-green algae which are cyanobacteria).
