My wife and I are looking into getting a saltwater aquarium for my house. Just was wondering how much would it cost ?

It depends on how big a tank that you want and whether or not you want to have photosynthetic corals, anemones, etc. that require intense, expensive lighting. If you just have marine fish, then a tank of say 55 gallons with all the good stuff (tank, stand, filter, equipment, lighting, etc.) might run you $400-600. If you wanted the same tank with corals, then maybe $1000-1200. I've never had a saltwater tank myself, part of that being because I don't make much money. Larger tanks are more stable. If I ever had a saltwater tank, I would probably do no smaller than a 40 gallon breeder tank.
