Is there supposed to be algae globs hanging off the plastic covering the tanks light bulb? If not, what do you clean it off with?

No, you don't want those! I wipe down the glass covers on my aquariums with the weekly cleanings. I use algae pads which are blue scouring pads made for glass aquariums. You'd want the ones made for plastic tanks. Is this a full hood with the plastic covering and light bulb built into the hood? Those covers usually come out to be cleaned. A wet paper towel should get the majority of things of the globular nature.

ok, thanks. Guess I'll be cleaning the green globies off the light in the morning. Think with those last snails I put in, I also picked up some string algae. lol Man, am I getting a pond. lol It's so green, you can barely see the FAKE plants, but the real plants are thriving. lol ph is staying above 7 and the NH3 is staying solid in the safe zone. I've started only feeding every 2 days...and a smaller pinch of food. At least I can use up the floating pellets that the pond fish wouldn't eat.

Got the green off the light...that went pretty easy. I've started limiting the food and light. Now working on the green water. lol
