Title: Lillies And Hyacinths?

Daphne - August 2, 2004 07:24 AM (GMT)
The lady at the plant store said I could not put hyacinths and lillies in my pond together because they would battle for nutrients and both die off. I haven't found any info on this, is it so?

I have a 90 gal pond with 3 fantails and some rosy reds. Also 2 snails and a crayfish. I have hyacinths and some water lettuce, and a parrots feather. I probably have enough now, but I had wanted a lilly.

That's news to me! I have a lot of water lilies and water hyacinth in the same pond since 1997! They're both doing great!

Ah, thanks so much- I didn't think that sounded right!

I love your site btw, it was most helpful in finding plants and fish for my pond. I love my Rosy Reds!
