well i guess my girl hadnt laid all her eggs last time. the hatched ones have just turned 10 days old and last night i found mama snail laying a clutch again
to avoid the hassles we had last time with having to catch them in a container, i was wondering if there is any way i can move the clutch. my LFS said you can move them and lay them on chicken wire above the tank where they will be so when they hatch they will fall straight in however they have led me astray with advice before so i thought it best to ask. they also didnt offer any help with regards to how to move them
is this possible and if so how would i do it?
If you could rig them to lay on chicken wire without falling through, then presumably, they would fall into the water when hatched. If the eggs are stuck to the glass, you can use a razor blade or credit card to try to detach the egg mass. You might damage some of the eggs against the glass but most should be okay. You could then move the eggs someplace where they would be humid but not in water.
i did as you said and used a credit card to move them. i did lose a few but not many. i ahve places them on cotton wool which i wet and them completely wrung out so that it was only damp and have left them in a warm place. im hoping this will be ok. has been a week tomorrow since they were laid and going by the last batch it should be another week or so before they hatch. fingers crossed they are ok :)
i seem to have baby aquatic life everywhere :(

You might want to suspend the cotton and eggs over a small dish of water to not only add humidity but, so that, when they hopefully hatch, they can fall into the water. Without water, if you're not there when they hatch, they might wander around or dry out.
