I'm writing an article for Ponds Magazine on hobbyists who collect items related to water gardening, including pins, t-shirts,mugs, patches, etc. I'd love to hear about your collection and how you started it! I'm also looking for tips for beginners on going to their first show, joining a club, and generally breaking the ice with other pond hobbyists.

I don't collect any of those sorts of things myself. But, I sure do have a lot of supplies and stuff. There are no pond clubs here so I've only been to one koi club meeting a few years ago that happened to be in my county. I didn't feel like I fit in. The people were mostly older and rich, opposite of me.
