Description: general info

Hi I have recently aquired a kissing gourami and would like some info on keeping it.
It came from a tank with no lights, filtration or heating and is now in a 27 / 30 uk gallon tank with a fantail goldfish (who he seems to like) various livebearers (mollies, guppies and platies) around 20 and two plecos.
I know my tank is overcrowded by some 20" of fish as one pleco is 11/12" the other 8/9" the gourami is 7.5 to 8" long and the goldffish about the same with fins.
WhatI want to know is hardiness, lifespan, maximum size, temperment ect of the gourami so I can take good care of him.
Thanks

I've never had a kissing gourami. I do know that they get very large. I'm afraid I'm so busy right now that I don't have time to look up information for you but I'm sure there's a lot on the internet about them and their preferences. As you know, your tank is overcrowded and has a mix of fish that's not ideal. I hope you can get more tanks for your fish. Good luck!

Sorry for not getting back I have found ou that this gourami will exeede 30 cm in legnth and live for 12 years plus !!.
I am looking for a new home for him among friends of friends and pet shops willing to take him on.
They can get very aggresive but aslong as my killer pleco is in the tank he will be kept in his place!.
