Hi, Im Johil from the philippines...

I have acquired my sailfin and it has been with me for two weeks...

It's body is about 5inches long from the snout to the base of the tail..

It got its rostral damage due to the first few hours i placed it in bird cage while i'm preparing it's real cage.

I'am just wondering if the damage is permanent? It has is snout bone exposed.. also some teeth just on the front.. The lip tissues have also been damaged..

up to what extent could it heal? I have read from differnt sites that it is a commom problem with sailfins...

I'm sorry your new baby sailfin was injured. It sounds pretty bad. I would worry about infection. He may need some topical or even oral antibiotics if it becomes infected. If you can get antibiotics, I suggest using them. The lizard will heal but there may be some permanent abnormality or scaring around that area. Sailfins often do tend to jam their heads into things. My sailfin used to do that as a baby but now only does it when strangers look at her (she hates that!). Then, I'll say she's spazing and to leave her alone. I hope she gets better! If you want more advise, I suggest asking the sailfin Yahoo group. There's a link on my sailfin page.
