Snowy appears to be one of the common sorts of plecos. He might be the same or similar species to my pleco as they look almost the same. Mine is Liposarcus pardalis or the leopard sailfin pleco.

Check out http://www.planetcatfish.com for a ton of photos of most of the pleco species.

My pleco page is at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/pleco.htm

Good luck with Snowy!

Thanks, I knew he was a rather common species, but not sure which kind. I have seen your pleco page before and it is very good. It has lots of great information.

Hi Robyn,

Unfortuneately it's been a while since I posted, change of job and residence etc..

I also have a Plecastomus, and for the life of me I cannot remember it's species, unfortunately i don't have a picture available, but I was hoping that by giving you a description you'll be able to help me.
It's orange in colour, similar to the orange colour of a clown loach.
It has broad black stripes, not as thick as those on a clown loach though.

I'd really appreciate assistance, It's name sounds kinda like Vivati, or that's what I can remember at least. :D :P

Thank you B)

Are you sure? Here is a list of the pleco common names beginning with V:

None of them seem to match. Your fish sounds gorgeous.

Hi Robyn,

I've Found my fish, and according to the link it is called a "Gold Stripe Panaque", I don't Know why the petshop owner gave it that other fancy name though.

Thanks Robyn.
:D :D
