Title: My Shade Is Kaput

My umbrella broke again..thought for sure the hardwood would stay together. It was the only source of shade for my pond. Does anyone know of any online part stores for picnic umbrellas? It's still in excellent shape except that one joint. In the meantime, I'm off to google.

Sorry for the problems. We only have really old picnic umbrellas that probably came from KMart.

If the ground is soft enough, you might try to take a length of pvc pipe, cut a bevel on the end and pound into the ground. Depending on how the shaft broke and its diameter, your umbrella might just fit in it.

SadieMay, you may have luck contacting the manufacturer. If you don't who that is, the vendor may.

I wish you were closer; I'd give you some floaters for shade, lettuce and hyacinth. I bought 10 of each a month ago. Man they're growing good this year, and my lilies are growing like mad too. Between the lilies and the floaters my pond is 3/4 covered already.

I actually remembered a tag on the inseam of the umbrella today..of course it was plain white. <_< It's at least 4 years old, bought at Ocean State..the type of store that's one up from the Dollar Store and just below Walmart. lol They'd be no help and I haven't seen them sell any this season. The thing is, it's a great umbrella, I've left it open until the first snow. I never put it away, just close it up and not one fringe rip. I guess the next step is to see if there's any leftover plastic block at work. We've got an inventive mechanic on 2nd shift. lol Guess I have to start looking at UV clarifers. :(
