So sorry to be such a pest. I just found this web site a short time ago, and I've already posted many questions. I suddenly have another one.
What do goldfish eggs look like? Just in the past few minutes, I noticed little white pellets in one of the pond plants- very small. They are not of uniform size and shape. Almost kind of flakey. They weren't there an hour ago. I can't imagine what else it could be. Is there a web site that might show a picture? How can I tell if they are fertile? How long do they take to hatch, if this turns out to be eggs? I'll be very disappointed if this turns out not to be eggs.

Newly laid goldfish eggs are clear and about 1 to 2 mm in diameter. Fertile eggs get little black dots which are the eyes. As the eggs near hatching (about a week), the babies can be seen twirling around inside the eggs. Infertile eggs or ones that die are normally attacked by fungus and turn white which makes them more obvious. Goldfish eggs are all almost perfect circles. It sounds like you're seeing something else in the pond. I'm not sure what they are if they're not eggs. You can always put some in a bucket of pond water and see if they develop or hatch into anything.
Sorry it took so long to respond. We were away.
You're right, we do not have fish eggs. I have no idea what it is. I just clean it out and get rid of it.
Thanks.
