If it's green, it sounds like suspended algae. I sometimes get that in my 65 gallon tank with three small fantails and my 15" pleco. Suspended algae will grow in a tank when there is sunlight hitting the tank, excess food, and/or a lot of fish waste. Often, a larger tank or filter solves the problem. If you can't reduce the amount of food or fish, then you can try some temporary fixes. I've used pond AlgaeFix in my tank when I do my weekly 50% water change. The next day, it's totally clear, and that lasts for two weeks or more before I might need another dose. AccuClear is another chemical that can clear up algae in the water but it's very temporary and may only last a few days. It basically causes particles in the water to clump out and sink or be filtered which means the algae can just grow back as soon as that's done.
What animals do you have in the tank? Does sunlight fall upon the tank any time during the day?
