I'm new here so I don't Know how many of you are into collecting native fish, or if you have any experience with red shiners, but I've observed something that I find very interesting.
My Red shiners talk! Alright so they don't exactly talk but they make a sort of a knocking noise when they are competing for spawning rights. I have tried to read as much as I can about red shiners but I have never encountered any mention of this. I would think such a thing would have been mentioned as it is so noticeable (I can here them from across the room).
Has anyone els observed this behavior in red shiners or perhaps another fish.
Any information or comments are welcome.

Hi! I assume you're the same person that has e-mailed me about the red shiners making noises. There haven't been many posts in here relevant to red shiners or any native fish but, who knows, maybe someone will reply.
