Does anyone have a fence around their pond/worry about not having one?
I happened to be in the international code listing today and it seems to me we might have to have fences around ponds over 2 ft deep. Has anyone investigated this?
Thoughts?

The laws regarding fencing vary from location to location but many places say to fence if it's over 2 feet deep. If there are likely to be small children wandering in the area, a fence is a good idea. I wish I had a fence to keep out the deer, dogs (what a mess that mastiff made!), and pond predators. My pond is 26" deep maximum and not fenced but we live on 5 acres, and the pond can't be seen from any surrounding properties or roads.
It sounds only logical that if you NEED a fence after 2ft. depth, you better check for a permit. The depth might be moved to the pool catergory.
