In my 30 gallon tank i have 1 adult rosy red minnow and a parrot cichlid. There are other fish as well but these 2 are interesting. Heres the story. The rosy follows the parrot everywhere. He never leaves his side and even does some wierd mating dance. Rosy even chases any other fish away when they get too close to the parrot. This has been going on for a few months now. Do you think rosy thinks that parrot is a rosy too? Rosy is fully mature and i even went and got 4 baby rosy's to keep him company,,but he wants nothing to do with them. It's the weirdest thing i ever saw. :ph43r:

How big is the rosy red and the parrot cichlid? I thought those cichlids get a lot bigger than rosy reds? Do you know if the rosy red is male or female? Fish do strange things. I'm not sure why the rosy red would behave like that. When a male rosy red finds a female he likes, he takes control of a spawning site and tries to lure her into it by wiggling around the spawning site and not so much swimming around the tank with her and "dancing." The rosy red may thing the cichlid is a rosy red.

The rosy is full grown,,i dont know how to sex rosy's. The parrot is abou 5 inches long(good sized) I guess they are just buddy's,,or rosy is a stalker fish..lol
