my parents have an adf that has lost both his front legs to another fish will they regrow or is he legless for life?

While tadpoles sometimes can regenerate limbs, frogs normally cannot. He will probably have a hard time getting around without front legs. Infection is also a risk.

that really sucks so if infection dosent get him can he still survive? we have moved him into another tank by himself so the infection dosent get ne thing else they have

If bacteria and/or fungus don't attack the injured area, then the frog can survive IF he can manuever himself enough to eat and do what he needs to do. If there are other animals with him, he may not get enough food either as they would eat most of it a lot faster than he could.

Since he's by himself, I suggest treating him with the following to help prevent infection:
1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons
MelaFix by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals
Antibiotics such as erythromycin (I use Maracyn I by Mardel)

If fungus appears, also try an antifungal but some of those can harm frogs so it would be a last ditch sort of treatment.
