I have a 10 gallon aquarium which we stocked with 3 fany tail goldfish and 2 snails. i have also added 11 baby snails from my pond skimmer. I moved the goldfish to the pond today and now have about 30 snails 9 mostly very tiny ones) in the aquarium. What should i feed them? We will be getting some new fish for but until then, i want to do the right thing for the snails. Thanks for your help. By the way, i starterd the sick fry on antibiotics and he's starting to look more normal! Another huge help from you, Robyn. Thanks, nancy
The snails can eat most fish foods including pond foods, goldfish flakes, and sinking algae wafers. You can also try cucumber (an inch long piece, split and deseeded and sunk), kale, etc. Snails don't eat much so be sure to remove extra food before it rots.
I'm glad the baby is better!
Thanks Robyn, I appreciate your always prompt replies. I'll try the cucumber idea- sounds interesting. The baby is making progress- the white coating seems to be less thick- still a lot of patchy green areas though. Hopefully every day will show improvement.
