Hello folks! got some small fry in a fish tank (comets i think seem to have that v shape tail) and was wanting to add them to my pond but at what stage will the other mature fish ( Koi Shubunkin Comets) not see the as food, there maybe an inch long got no colour yet still brownish but seem to be more reddish by the day, just seems a shame for them to be in the tank when there is a nice big pond out there for them any advice would be appreciated thanks

What species of fish are in your pond? How big are they? For goldfish and smaller koi, they won't usually bother with baby goldfish over an inch long. Predatory fish like bass can eat larger goldfish. The larger the babies are, the more likely they are to survive predation not just from goldfish but from other predators.

Enjoy the babies!
