Title: Question About Colisa Sota/chuna

I have always been so impressed with your site and knowledge about so many fish and aquatic animals in general, and especially with your knowledge of true honey gouramis. Do you have an authoritative source about them? I am very interested in these fish and for awhile was convinced that sota and chuna are two different species, but have been assured by many that they are one in the same, just different size and color variants. Of late, I have seen alot of color variants and grab a couple up each time I see them. Currently, I have what I would call a true honey gourami male mating with a female golden, red eye, red finned variant... Is it correct that chunas and sotas are considered one in the same now?

Picture of the two together. Sorry about the reflections but you get the idea of the color variations I'm talking about.

I didn't have honey gouramis for very long but I really liked them. They didn't do well in my tank so I never got any more. I'm afraid I don't know too many details about them or have a favorite internet source about them either.

I did a quick check, and I see honey gouramis referred to both as "sota" and "chuna." Here are some sites that use both:

[That site says the males were given one name and the females the other at first. I don't know if that's true or not.]

[That one's a link page to other pages.]
