Hi Robyn,
A frog jumped out of a flower pot next to my pond yesterday. I have never seen one like it before. It's got a longer and pointy nose than other frogs and it is like a real dark green with darker spots on it and his hind legs and feet (when he is sitting) are big. Do you have any idea what he could be? I thought I would let you know that my bullfrogs have disappeared. I haven't seen them since the spring.

It's hard to say from a description. Can you post a photo? Have you looked for a web site with photos of species native to your state for comparison? The site http://www.enature.com has photos of the most common US species but it's a really slow site.

You can try searching for a Leopard frog picture. When I had a Leopard frog, she had a narrow pointy nose compared to a green frog and maybe a little smaller in size. She also changed colors from a pale celery green to a darker green with the dark spots. I really miss seeing her in the pond.
