Title: Computer Problems
Description: I may not be able to visit

Robyn - September 9, 2007 12:21 AM (GMT)
This morning, our computer crashed. My father's been cursing all day trying to get it to work. He set up a new mother board and hard drive and finally got the internet going although the letters are huge and hard to read. But, he can't get any of the old hard drive or 2 to 4 month old backup drive to copy into the new hard drive. So, I am able to get into my e-mails and forum with my trusty printed out list of passwords. I print out important stuff and this is why! But, I can't upload, download, or work on anything else. I lack both the files and the programs. That means I can't do anything with my web site. I'm dead in the water. Depending on what he can get to copy over, I may lose up to 1000's of digital photos that were on the old hard drive, over 100 in the last few months since he backed up. That doesn't really affect the web site since most of the new photos were of family outings. My HTML web site files are also backed up on flash drive that I use at work (can't upload at work though) but photos are too large to backup. Anyway, I can't update my site anytime soon until this is straightened out. Not that I'd have time anyway since both work at home and my "job" are completely out of control. I haven't been able to work on my web site as far as renovation since early this year (and not much then). That may be a good thing if my father can recover the backup drive since I haven't moved too much around since then, only say 200 files?!

I just wanted to let you know that due to the computer problem at home and no longer being able to spend more than fleeting time on the computer at work that I may not be able to reply as promptly to postings and e-mails as I have been. It takes at least two hours a day to do that. I have 1.5 hours tonight after doing 12 hours straight of animal chores. If I'd been able to upload files, that would have been even less. I have about 10 pages of stuff I'm supposed to add to my site and over a dozen photos uploaded but not linked in. That all doesn't include the fact that I'm supposed to renovate my entire site into subdirectories. That was supposed to take a few years but it's been three years now, and I've only done maybe 10%. My site is like a eutrophic pond. It really makes me sick. I wish I could just chuck my job. I read a week ago that the average income in my county is some three times my salary. I feel so stupid. My brother, who makes almost 3 times what I do, and was considered retarded when he was 4 years old (turns out he was partially deaf), calls me "hopeless."

Hey, at least I turn 35 this week! Now, I'm officially an old maid and can stop dwelling on the fact that I'll never be a wife or mother. I tried to take off work on my birthday but, alas, I have to go in and suffer.

Happy Birthday Robyn!!

About your large print. I am not an expert but somebody taught me this trick.

Go to TOOLS, click on INTERNET OPTIONS
click in ACESSIBILITY
Look at the top where is says FORMATTING

click or unclick those boxes as needed. This might solve your problem.

You can also go to VIEW and check the TEXT SIZE

GOOD LUCK!

Karen

PS You can always call the GEEK SQUAD. I do not know their phone number. They helped my friend fix her router problem.

Happy Birthday Robyn...and I didn't even consider myself an old maid at 40+ :). I surprised everyone (including myself ) by getting married at 45. :o

ROBYN< YOU ARE NOT AN OLD MAID AND PLEASE DO NOT USE THAT EXPRESSION!!!!
I am 46, I am a mother to many cats and fish. Children are too noisy, and I, like you take care of my parents.
Marriage is not all it's cracked up to be! I am happy to be single!
Also never say never. Especially if that is what you want.

Hey Robyn your just a baby at 35 (ahhhh to be 35 again) and not even close to "Old Maid" category :)
I know plenty of folks that got married later in life and are very happy they waited. You know what you want by that stage in life and are settled down from the younger days;)
Sounds like you are a little overwhelmed and in need of a break to me.

Here's a belated happy birthday and I hope you get some time off!

Happy B-Day!!

...and don't talk silly!! The sexiest women anywhere are in their 30's and 40's! A birthday is just a number and has nothing to do with who or what you are.

If there is anything I can do to help just yell (with the site I mean, as for the other thing, well, I'm married!!! hahaha).
