Ever since Johnnyboy showed us his cypress tree I have been on the lookout for one. Well our local nursery is getting me one spiecies of the tree in the spring that they recomended.

google "taxodium distichum"

Checkout the roots how they come up above the water, called knees. Is that not the coolest pond tree you have ever seen.
Thanks for the idea to experiment with John.

Dang!!! :o One knee of that tree would take up my pond. lol Unfortunately my winter will be spent saving up to upgrade my pump and filter.

Very cool, Wayne!!! Are they ordering you a mini/dwarf version? The trees I seen in the pics are huge. I've had mine 2+ years and still only ~4' tall. Mabye I missed the correct web site.

I have to say, the leaves look like mine, but I haven't seen any cones. Maybe they're so small I need to look closer.

I can't wait to see yours planted.

Actually I am going to that nursery again this weekend the confirm the order and ask for any other details. I guess knowing how big the tree is going to get would be a good thing to know. lol Hummm ,I wonder how big of a pot I would need for a 70' tall tree.
