I have recently bought 2 yellow sliders and am totally new to this I have them in a 96 litre tank heated etc etc and they are doing OK the thing is I put a few small guppies in with them and they ate them all!!!! So I tried two freshwater sharks (diamond andblack fin) they attacked them too and killed them even though they were 3 times the size of the turtles. I then bought a baby lobster which was also twice the size of them they ate that too!!!!!!!!
Is there any freshwater creature they can live with??????????
thanks everybody
Turtles eat other animals. So, the easy answer is no, there is no animal you can add that is guaranteed that won't be eaten or tortured. They can even kill big apple snails by biting off the exposed parts if they dare to venture out. Yours seem to really love meat moreso than most so you'll have to keep them by themselves. It's best to keep turtles only with turtles unless you have a large pond (where they can still eat what they want). I'm sure they enjoyed their expensive "meals" but you may want to stick to lower priced fish and shrimp from now on.
