*SCREAMS OF JOY AND SORO* THE DANIO EGGS I PUT IN MT NET BREEDER HAVE HATCHED! but there is a ick attack and i "HAD" to put in the treatment....
Do you know if my 6 females that are going to have a batch of eggs and the baby danios will make it thro? The Ick have bin in the tank for 48 hours and the treatment takes that long!
BUT THE BIG THING I HAVE TO KNOW IS WHAT TO FEED THE BABY FISHES THAT I DIDN'T THINK WERE THERE!
I'm sorry about the ick. Are you sure they have ick? You saw white dots all over the fish? The simplest treatment for ick - salt and raising the temperature - wouldn't kill fry outright. Some ick parasitic medications (usually copper based) can kill fry. I guess you'll find out.
The fry will eat microscopic foods. Under this section of my web site, you can see a few of the commercial fry foods that I have that my fry have eaten:
http://www.fishpondinfo.com/breed.htm#feedThat section is out of date (written in 1998 I think!) but I added the fry foods to it recently.
WELL THERE IS JUST ICK IN THE OUT SIDE THE NET BREEDER AND ONLY THE ALGIE EATER AND MY ONE AND ONLY SWORD TAIL FISH HAVE IT!
(BLEEP) IT!!! The baby fish died <_< :( <_< :(
But All the females are pregent!! And are going to pop soon!!!
Do you know the best way to feed them brime shrimp eggs?
I'm sorry about the baby fish. I've lost many baby fish over the years. I have two baby glowlight danios in a net breeder now, starting to look like real fish but 7 of their siblings didn't survive.
Baby fish should be fed live, newly hatched brine shrimp not the brine shrimp eggs themselves. You can buy a brine shrimp hatchery which is basically just a container in the dark with a lighted opening and tiny net cup there. You add salt, water, and eggs. In a few days, babies show up in the lighted opening where you scoop them up, rinse, and put in the tank.
