Hi, Many pleco info sites say that some plecos will feed on fish food at the top of the tank. I would not argue with that mine has made it his party trick for years, but my newer pleco has put his own spin on it and I was wondering if this was more weird.
He will eat his pleco pellet from the hand at the top of the tank, and being a bottom feeding fish this must be hard.The older pleco bullys this one but he is not as brave could this be this pleco's way of ensuring a good meal ?/
When I dont hold the food he will hold it with his barbels and swim on his back as well. i just want to know how unusual this is for a pleco to do.

I've never hand fed my pleco but a few people have told me that they do. It's not surprising that they might do that.
