Bump Again

What does that mean?

It's a quick and easy message to bump a spammer down the board. It's a 'whoever sees it first gets to bump' :D .. Also it gives Robyn more time to delete the spammer and doesn't get message boards users irritated by constantly openning the links. Aquarium seems to be the most liked catergory for spammers...and there's been some real eye openners when it comes to pics. Fortunately Robyn gets most of them, but once in awhile one will slide by.

I read all messages. I don't know that I've missed any SPAMS. I try to come on daily to the forum. I would prefer that you not add "bumps" because then I have to go in and delete those as well. I left this one to explain. It is best to ignore inappropriate posts (you can usually tell by the heading) until I can delete them. There used to be more junk when anyone could post. At least now, you have to register so there are few SPAMS.

Robyn, okay...no bumps, thought it sounded like a good idea. Sorry it causes more hassle for you. :(

SadieMay, I think I have been doing most of the bumping so I am the guilty one here. I thought it was a good idea too but sometimes good ideas turn out to be a pain in the rear for others! Sorry. No more bumps I promise :)

I had no idea! I thought "bump" related to a bump in a betting situation; bump to keep the game going. I'm not a gambler but I think that's what it means.

Now I'm wondering why no one has said anything to me. Especially since I use/write "bump" as text in a follow-up email message; to indicate I still need an answer, as I haven't received one yet from my first message. So I "bump" the message to refresh it in your mind.

Interesting.

Jb, you are also right about the bump too.
They do use bumps when playing cards [gambling]. Bumps are also is used on forums to move a post [or thread] up or down like you said you have done. You were doing it to get a response. When I did the bumps they were a pain for Robyn b/c that was an extra post that had to be dealt with. Some forums allow them for junk posts and others do not. My bad...
