I thought I would post a pic of the fake lillies and water lettuce. You can tell they aren't real but they are colorful!

Ooooohh! Those are pretty.

I had the large ones without flowers. Think they were a bit thicker, made from a orange/yellowish styrofoam type material, coated with a hard paint shell. They looked great the first year. The second year were much faded, and the hard shell color started chipping off exposing the inside. That's how I know the styro color. They didn't last me long. I hope you have better luck.

These here are touted as silk. I don't know that to be true but they are fabric covered. They also have these little foam disks underneath that you can't see in the pic. I suppose that would be for floatation. :unsure:
We will see how well they hold up. I do plan on taking them out sometime next spring.

I have some colourful fake ones too! Not like I could have REAL ones here. What matters most is that they DO provide shade for the fishy's. I have a floating frog on a lilly pad too.

I almost bought one of those but wasn't sure it would float. Darn-it!

The green styrofoam underneath is a favorite "food" for our raccoons! They literally eat all my fake floating plants most of which I keep in my front mosaic pond in the summer. I'll find styrofoam scattered all over the porch with teeth marks. They leave their dirty footprints on the rim of the pond too so I know it's them. That pond has no living plants or animals, just tasty fake ones.
