amazing pics very pretty but I am sure scary LMAO I am assuming the family is fine. We see the fish are
Was the generator used in the house at all? Amazing what we do for our little fishy friends. I am so scared the power will go out this winter my worst nightmare. I have not generator and if I did I know I would hook up the fishies to it.
thanks for sharing the great pics

The ice is so pretty but nothing scares me more than power outages. We have a generator but my father usually refuses to run it (too much work he says). Power out during below freezing temperatures is worst for the pond. I have to pull the power cord when the power goes out below freezing because if the power comes back on when it's frozen, it might burn out the pump or divert the water. We're supposed to get 65 mph winds from that same storm today (no ice or snow though). I'm petrified the power will go out and harm my ponds, animals, and soap operas! I won't be home.

We got hit with the ice storm last nite. It took me 45 minutes to get home ( I live 7 min.s away from work ). My old truck just does not like to warm up. :( Went down to the pond..de-icer is working. :D Water temp. is about 38F with only about an 1/8 have ice on top.

Ice can be a double edged sword. It's beautiful and dangerous at the same time. I always try to get a few pics when we have ice storms here. We have a couple of generators that we use when our power goes out. I already have my eye on the smaller one for the pond! I think my DH might try to put the brakes on that idea but after I throw the "big fit" it will be all over. ;) Another bad thing for us but not the fish is we don't have water when the power goes out. We have a 3-phase well so our generators can't make enough wattage to run it. :( I fell a little guilty complaining about the rain we have been getting. It is much better than ice.
I love the rocks that you have in your waterfall JB. They remind me of the rocks that I saw in Montana by the river. Big, round and colorful.
Thanks for sharing and glad the lights are back on JB!

Thanks for sharing the pictures! They are beautiful! I haven't given much thought to power outages! Yikes! Now I am having anxiety, lol! I would be in big trouble if our power went out. I guess it is best not to think about it while it is -27 this morning!

Yup, we're all fine. Thanks for the concern. Fireplace kept us warm and toastie.
Tia, what I did with the generator was place it/run it outside (really good idea for a gas engine. hehe-hehe) next to the pond service box. The generator has two outlets, so I used one for the pond pump, and the other, I ran an extension cord inside the house for lights, battery charger, etc. I was very happy I had a full container of gas. Considering I normally find it empty. I won't blame the Son who tends to top off the power washer before borrowing it ............... after having run it out of gas the last time he borrowed it.
All my pond rock are Rainbow Granite, with the exception of the waterfall stones.
Robyn, your father obviously doesn't live with my Wife! Otherwise he'd find it very easy to start one up; in about 30 seconds after the power went off. I couldn't get out of the house fast enough....... and I wanted to...... because it really hurts when you can't "see" to block the frying pan coming at you! hehe-he
