OHHHHH, I cleared it out of my PhotoBucket. I have a bad habit of cleaning things up like that. Do you want me to repost it??

KoiKrazy - December 8, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
I still had it saved, so here it is!

Thanks! :)
The shubunkin looks small in comparison to the other fish. About half the size. Do they grow slower?

That is a good question for Robyn! I only got my 2 this summer and I didn't see alot of growth in them. I know they can get big though. I think they grow a lot slower than Koi, because I swear I can watch my Koi grow in the summer months!

I would like to learn how to post photos.
I am somewhat computer illiterate, so I might need a little coaching.
What's a photo bucket?

Hi Pool Guy! Welcome to the board!
Photobucket is a website that you can upload pictures from your computer and put them there so you are able to post them on the web. And it's free.
Here is what you need to do:
You can use this website to post: http://photobucket.com/register.php
You have to create an account then upload your pics from your pc. You can also resize them. You don't have to select to Share them, I didn't.
After you upload, find and click on the pic. It should open in a larger window. Next click the Resize tab and select the size that you want to have in your post and say yes to the popup. After you are finished resizing click the Albums and Uploads tab and the will take you back to your main page. I think after you resize you can rename someplace at the bottom of the screen. Just click the image code one time with your left mouse button and that will copy it to your imaginary clipboard. Then when you are typing your post for the pics just right click one time and select paste. That will put the pic in your post.
Another tip for what it's worth, is not to upload to many pictures at one time to photobucket. You will have to turn off your popup blocker if you have one to be able to edit your pics in photobucket. :)

I've found that my shubunkins have grown a little bit slower than the comets but not that much slower. They can grow just as large, 14" or so. I only have one surviving shubunkin now though.

My Shubunkin actually grew huge this season he was one of my fastest growers I have to say he was 4 in in April and he is a good 9 in w/out tail and THICK I had to pick him up this fall just to check for anything bad b4 winter and i could not get my hands all the way around him. Well I guess Pika (the silver koi) grew the fastest but he still has alot more to go I would think curley is almost at his max. Unless I have a freak fish but he is my friendliest fish (and I am on the hunt for a blue one) that pic is so pretty

Yea C2 I like it too. My neighbor said I could have one of her fish this spring. I hope I can find one that is close to the size of the amigos just to see how fast or slow they grow for me in my pond. Would I need to quarantine it even though all her fish in her pond are healthy?

KoiKrazy - December 9, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
Tia, It is a huge mistake to NOT quarantine a new fish. This is especially true from the pet store for positive! However.....I did add 6 new fish from a lady who was shutting down her pond this summer. They were very healthy looking and I trusted her completely. So.....if you see the pond and know it's and the owners history I think it would be okay?? But be sooooo careful! KK

Yea KK maybe I will keep it by itself for a while just to make sure. I guess it isn't worth taking a shortcut. It would break my heart if something would happen to the 3 amigos. I can't believe that a person can get so attached to a 27 cent fish! :o
I know that she hasn't bought any new fish for a few years now but maybe someone else may have given her one.
I'll read up on the quarantine procedure and get ready...
