Title: She Did It Again!
Description: Mother brings home hermit crab!

Never send my mother to a pet store! She had this brilliant idea to get live goldfish to feed the heron. I tried to talk her out of it. See my other post I will make after this one. Anyway, she also came home with another hermit crab! Herman died a few weeks ago, the other "surprise" hermit crab she came home with. I put up all his stuff and didn't want another one. After all, if I can't keep one alive, why sentence another to death? Well, the new crab is here sitting next to me; I haven't even put him/her up yet. All I see right now is the shell. Place bets now on how long I can keep him alive! I begged my mother not to get another crab. How come she can't get the animal I do want (the puppy I've been asking for for four year!)! As always, I will do the best I can for my new charge. Name suggestions?

Your a great owner, so I think he'll live a full happy life.
Since your mom comes home with a new pet, you should come home one day with a new puppy, lol.

Yes, most definatley! I agree, you should have a puppy! Not like you should have 4 like me or anything, lol, but could one little puppy be sooooo bad??? Make sure you don't get a water loving dog though :P Maybe we should start a poll called "Should Robyn have a puppy" and we could gang up on your Mom, you know, just give her the "guilts" a little!!!

Yep Robyn you should have a puppy! A Christmas puppy! You should go pick out your puppy yourself. You take care of EVERYTHING else so why not a puppy too!! Yep you need a puppy!
As for the name of the crab how about The Hermanator? Or Benny, Snowflake or Buttons. What about Kringle or Jack? You asked..

When I was about 25 I came home with a 4 month old puppy. Mom said 'whats that?" I said 'Waldo..he falls down steps, takes a half hour for a dump and the last of the litter..and I've gotten attached to him.'..ALL IN ONE BREATH :o ( also feeling like I was 8 years old again ). Right off the bat, she said NO, and it was her house/rules. Then she said, let him loose in the backyard. If he got along with our older dog and my dad..it'll be up to them. Pauper chased the pup for about 15 minutes straight and then Waldo ran right into my dad. Yep...INTO, clipped him right behind his knees and my dad went flying down on his back. <_< I remember bending my head and thinking no puppy. :( Dad came into the kitchen, looked at both of us. Said cute puppy, what's his name? I said Waldo, and can I keep him? Dad said yep. :D Only thing that outruled mom....was dad. :P

I like Buttons! That is a cute name :D
When I came home with our "third puppy", who I had named Lou Lou, my husband said NO WAY! I was allowed to keep her until I found her a new home. She had to sleep outside (which was fine cause she is part Husky and we had an empty dog house) I found a wonderful home for her (my parents retired neighbours). On the day I was going to drive her over there, I was walking down the driveway carrying Lou Lou and her toys and Blanky (stuff falling everywhere) and just bawling my guts out. My husband came out of the shop to see what all the commotion was about. I went and sat on our front steps and said I couldn't drive because I was crying so hard that I would crash my car and die! He layed down on the grass and unzipped his coveralls. He looked at me and said "I don't know what you want me to say" Just then Lou Lou went over to him, stuck her head into his coveralls and layed down with him. I knew I had him at that moment. He said "okay she can stay but you have to change her name". Now we have Zoe and she is three and she is the best dog in the world and I couldn't imagine my life without her! KK (this is a picture of her)

I will never have a dog. My imaginary dog's name is Skipper. She's a border collie.

Those are cute, but borders are way too much high energy for me.

I didn't see your photo. We used to have dogs. The last one, Schmoo, died on 1/31/05. So, I know all too well the pros and cons. Schmoo did plenty of damage but, still, we put up with him. I could say the same for my 2.6 year old niece! Love makes no sense but it's stronger than torn up screens and window sills (Schmoo did that) and Numbers 1 to 3 on the floor and everywhere else!
Crabby is doing ok.

the photo should be back... I am still learning the ins-and-outs of photo bucket! About the dogs, I might add - they do nothing to dissuade the local herons, cranes, and grebes!
A large cat (cougar) might be better - ha!

Robyn, Glad to hear Crabby is doing well! I din't know what you ended up naming her! I laughed at "crabby" seems fitting though
