Title: Great Idead To Tell If The Breaker Blew
Description: Trees!!!!
christina2lehner - December 15, 2007 03:54 AM (GMT)
Well I was worrying (go figure) how would I know if the breaker poped and the heater wasnt running in the pond with out checking it every ten min. My breaker to that outlet is tied the the basement so nothing in the house would warn me.
My great Idea (still pending a paton(sp) I put light up spiral trees around the pond that draw off the sme electric source so if they are not lit I have not power damn I am good. LMAO   \\
yes I know genius compleeete genius.

Very good idea C2. I was wondering the same thing! Maybe I will plug in my ugly plastic snowman, LOL

LOVE that idea. I have to check 3 places!!! The plug in the shed, breaker in the garage, then the breaker in the house. I've got 2 old yard candles in the floor joints my parents used to use. I can just put more effecient bulbs in them. My plan this year ( when I decide which one I want ) is to get a wireless security camera. That way I can do spot checks from my puter. :ph43r: Waiting for the doctor today, we already started talking about expanding the pond. AND DH agreed if I get rid of the pool, I can make a swimming pond. :D Now to research to rework my pool filter.

Our above ground pool is literally falling apart. You just know I've made up plans in my head of a swimming pond with koi and turtles, waterfall, filter system, etc. But, my parents would never go for it! If you get to do that SadieMay, you are super lucky!

You are a regular Einstein C2! Good thinking!!
I read this thread and went right out and put up a string of LED mini x-mas lights around the pond. It looks pretty cool at night. My neighbor thinks I am kinda weird! Shh don't tell anybody but I think she is right!
I didn't really need them to see if the power was on. There is only the pump and aerator [and now the LED] plugged into that outlet. I won't let anything else to be plugged in to that circuit. ;)

DARN IT!!! You beat me to it! I wanted to put lights up around the pond! I was just too lazy to go out to the shop and find them!! Who cares what the neighbour thinks, lol, I am sure your fish will appreciate the Christmasey jesture :-)

That was a very smart idea C2.
It's funny... after I finished putting up the Christmas lights around the front of the house, my wife asked me "What about Christmas lights for the koi & goldies?". I only got to laugh for about a second or two. She wasn't joking. I guess I'm off to the hardware store for more lights!!

I love the spiral trees around the pond it steps it up a little I sure the fish dont care but I like it. yeah my husband made fun of me "your decorating the pond?" well little did he know that would save him of the trips to the pond after me asking "Honey please make sure the heater is still on" JOKES ON HIM!
I put the icecycle lights around the 2 story deck then flowed them back to the pond where they connect to the light up trees it looks great at night.
Yes it is all in my back yard but we are a 1/2 mile from the road so who cares if they are in my back yard no one can see them anyway and I am usually in the kitchen and back livingroom anyway where all the action is and I enjoy them
maybe not so much the hubby lol but I do.
we should all decorate and post pics holidays with the fishies LOL

Well, I haven't put Xmas lites out at the pond yet. But when I got home from shopping, went down to the pond and no running water...breaker blew. Forgot all about the dryer running. So now ( since de-icer is 1500watt) things are on a timer. I have a 3 hour window in the morning to use the dryer and the rest of the 24 hours the de-icer owns the power. <_<

Boy SadieMay that is a real pain in the rear! Do you have a plan to fix the problem for next year?
KoiKrazy - December 19, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
I am really glad C2 gave us the idea of the lights. I love that all I have to do is take a glimpse out the window and see the christmas lights on and know things are fine in there. Hhmmm, guess I will have to switch to clear lights after the holidays!
