Title: Help With Tadpole

xmocannax - December 30, 2007 02:00 AM (GMT)
I have an aquarium that has 3 guppies and what I believe is a bullfrog tadpole in it. I noticed one of the guppies has a white growth on its side and I think its Lymphocystis. Can the tadpole catch this from the fish? I know they can't catch Ich, but since this Lymphocycstis is a virus I'm not sure if its species specific. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Most fish illnesses are specific to fish. I've not heard specifically of amphibians having lympocystis (a virus that makes cauliflower-like growths on fish). The tadpole is probably safe if that's what the guppy has. Now, if it's a bacterial or fungal growth, that could be something that could harm the tadpole. Can you post a photo of the guppy?
