Hi everyone! I bought a Laguna power heater in Nov. it's a 315 watt they came out with this year. It ran for about 2 weeks, I unplugged it to use the outlet when I plugged it in it didn't work! The store I bought it at exchanged it and 3 weeks later the same thing happened to the second one! I called Laguna they were very helpful assisting me with troubleshooting and will send a new one but can't figure out why it's not resetting. Has anyone had a similar problem? I never removed it from water, I allowed 2.5 hours before plugging in ect. now it's frozen into my pond! Thanks for any suggestions!

It may be truly dead, or it may need to be reset. De-icer thermostats can get "messed up" when high winds blow over them, there's snow, or no reason at all. To test a de-icer, put it into your freezer in your house. Wait at least a half hour. Then, take it out and plug it in with your hands on the element (does the Laguna have an element; I'm not familiar with it? I looked on-line. It kind of looks like a plastic spider.). If it's working, it will get hot quickly (don't burn yourself!). If it's barely working, it may take a minute to warm up. If there's no heat after two minutes, it's dead.
