Description: Keeping Albino Frogs

Has anybody kept albino frogs? Do they need a temperature of 77 degrees or will they withstand coldwater tank temperature? Can you keep them with goldfish or will the large, two year old goldfish eat them?

Albino aquatic frogs are African clawed frogs (there are no albino African dwarf frogs). My page on these frogs is at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/frog4.htm
African clawed frogs (ACF's) will eat small fish as adults. When they're babies, larger fish may eat the ACF's. They can live around 75 degrees F comfortably. Once it goes down in to the 60's, they will slow down and eventually do poorly. They come from warm areas of Africa.

If the goldfish are much larger than the frogs, yes, the goldfish may eat them. The ACF's can also eat small fish. It's usually best to keep both of these species in species-only tanks but some people keep them with other species. I'm sure a few people have combined ACF's and goldfish without problems while others have lost either small ACF's or small goldfish to the other species.
