I think he looks cool but I hope he is ok! He looks happy and healthy in the pic. I see his pal is smiling for the camera too or is he begging for food? :D

I gotta agree with tia ... he looks really cool like that.

I have a goldfish in my pond that waited until she was three years old before she "decided" to change color. She had the deepest red-orange color, then turned stark white. She's five years old now, and is one of the healthiest and most active in the bunch.

I'll bet Robyn has an answer as to why that happens ... I sure don't.

Hi Guys

I think he looks very cool also and I'm sure he is very healthy I just don't know why that happened. The goldfish in the same tank that I've had for years are now white.Maybe it's just an age thing.
As for the camera they love getting their pictures taken.

Goldfish can change colors throughout their lives. Most color changes occur when the fish are young, in the first year. But, sometimes an older fish will change color. Your black moor (which is another name for a black telescope-eyed goldfish) is on her way to becoming an orange telescope-eyed goldfish. I expect most of the black will be replaced with orange. She may get some white later too on the fin tips. It may take a while or happen virtually overnight. "Pure bred" black moors are not supposed to change color. Your goldfish must have some orange relatives. If you could take photos before, during, and after the color change, I could put them on my web site to illustrate goldfish color changes (which are briefly mentioned under my breeding goldfish section).

I think goldfish are especially beautiful when changing colors. It's too bad she won't stay looking like that!

Hi Robyn

Wow I didn't know all that.Very interesting. Two of my goldfish are now all white and it didn't take them long to change color.I love the way the black moor looks right now.I think he is very cool.I would love to send you pictures of him as the color changes.
Good to know he is healthy and it's normal for them to change.

Thanks swampview
