Does anyone have peacocks? Any experince of having them as pets? I would like to look into raising a pair for my garden which is on my 2 acre lot?

I think Wayne has a peacock named "Pete". Don't know if it is a pet or a visitor.
He might have some insight on peacocks .... he should be on here later.

sorry i have been busy since i last time i posted. I have a friend who lives next to a house that has them and between the hours of 6 and 7 they scream and there is about 10 of them. so that is out thank you

i love hearing them "scream" thats kinda their mating call/talking/warning sign all wrapped up in one!

My neighbor has them too. They live about a 1/4 mile from me and I can hear them call. They have stong "voices". I also can hear the roosters crow! I don't mind b/c I live in the country. Now if they were calling outside my bedroom window that may be a little different. ;)

I used to have a gorgeus white peacock. He was always 'flirting' with my two peahens. Soon he started getting over-protective of them, so I ended up selling him to a petting zoo where experts could look after him. The Peahens also went with him.
