Title: Pond Design By Oase

frogman3 - March 14, 2008 01:10 AM (GMT)
Ok, the snow melted enough today so I could slosh around the yard and take some crude measurements of the elevations of the upcoming pond site and take some photos. Months ago I purchased imaging software from OASE. How it works is you take a digital photo of your location load it on your computer and the program allows you to add everything water, plants, trees, fountains, humps, resize them, add shadows ect to your hearts content. I figure after going through all the help video's it will probably take me longer to accomplish this than it will to install the ponds.  Oh well maybe i'l just dig out that etch- a- sketch. :)

Hi Froggy, I have the Oase pond software too, I had a ball playing with it. I was goofing around and took a picture of the frozen pond and put lilies on it and shrubs etc. It was soooo funny. I wanted to post it but couldn't figure out how to send the picture from there :(

When I got the software, I went nutso. lol  Since I'm not sure how long and many tiers the landscaping will actually be...boy, did I get alot of variations.
I is fun to play with.

KK, do you have One Note in your computer?
If you do then you could take a snapshot of the screen that contains your pond design. Then from One Note you can save the snapshot as an image file then upload to Photobucket. I think Google has a free program similar to One Note that you can download.
Another idea is trying to copy and paste the pic to your desktop.
Do you have the file saved in your computer? Can you email the file to me?
I had to uninstall the software when I had puter troubles and haven't reinstalled yet or I would give it a try myself.

Hey T! I knew you could answer that one for me :-) I will see what I can do!

You can save any screen if you are running Windows XP (don't know about Vista).
Use the "print screen" key. It doesn't actually print the screen, but puts it on the clipboard. Then open Word, Notepad, or other word processor, and "paste" the clipboard image into the word processor. There will be a copy of whatever was on the screen at the time that you used the "print screen" key. On my laptop, I press the function key (fn) and the print screen key (prt sc) to copy to the clipboard. On a desktop, there is usually a key that has the primary function as print screen. No special program needed to do this. I use this all the time when I need to send error messages to tech support when I have a technical problem. Just used it yesterday to help my email supplier debug their new email program.

Assuming that we are using XP and I have used Print Screen to copy to the clipboard. I open let's say, Word Pad to paste and view the snapshot, now I have to save the file but it will save as a text (document) file and not an image file. So what am I missing here?

I thought someone wanted to send an image of something in a program that the other person did not have. Using print screen and a word processor makes the image available for emailing.

If you want an actual image file, follow the instructions at this link:

http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/general/h...nscreenshot.htm

Either way, it is a way of sharing an image from a program.

Ok, I see. I was confused as to how I might save the file as an image file in Word Pad when it wasn't possible. I thought I was missing something. After I posted I saw your last post about sending as a attachment to an email and then figured out what you were trying to say.
Thanks.

Nice job!

Good job KK!! Now tell us how you did it. You must have taken a picture of your yard (in the summer of course) right?
Where is the place, like a hot tub, for you and the special someone to sit and sip your ice tea or "other" spirts.

That looks really nice...and relaxing. It's only the 2nd time I've seen those fountain heads look sharp in a pond. The other is a 50ft. plus spray at a local pond near the Sportsman Club. It looks 50 ft. high from the road. lol

Where's the bar? How could you forget the bar??? ;)

KK, I was looking at the pond that you created with the software and you are going to have to add more plants. There isn't enough and you are going to have algae problems with all that sun you get. ;)

Hey, that wonderful software is on sale at Drs. Foster and Smith web site $1.99 (plus $9.99 shipping) Find it here

OASE Fountainscapes Pond Design Software

I just ordered it and am awaiting its delivery.

SadieMay - March 24, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
Linda, you'll have some fun with it...for sure. When I get my camera outside I'll be taking new pics for the program. We've decided we're going bigger. I plan on going slower than DH...outer landscaping this summer and new pond next summer. :D

frogman3 - March 25, 2008 01:36 AM (GMT)
That's what I paid for mine since I have not done much with it.... guess I haven't got my 1.99 worth yet.

ukswimmingkoi - June 4, 2008 06:10 PM (GMT)
nice picture looks good, i wanted to order the software at $1.99 and get it sent to myself in the uk but they wanted $100 for postage, which sort of defeats the point of getting it at $1.99

tlc - June 4, 2008 06:51 PM (GMT)
Hi ukswimmingkoi and welcome!
That would make the software a little on the spendy side. Too bad you don't have a buddy here that could buy it and send it to you. Might be cheaper that way. :)

Don't forget to go here http://z2.invisionfree.com/Fishpondinfo/in...p?showforum=225 and say HI!
