Yep thanks, lol with the hatchlings i was so glad I caught them hatching, thought I was gonna miss it, but darn if the third hatchling hatched before those two, so I didnt get a pic of him hatching.
Thanks for the kind words with stripe, that hit me hard he was my oldest turtle, had him about 5 years, bought him full grown so i think age just got him, but he lives on with the 3 babys he help make

The downstairs of my house is a wall of glass tanks. Also have a black preformed pond in there too for the musks.
Alot of care and money went into the turtles lol. Each have a story why I bought them.
Male Res(Claws)- He had extremely bad shell rot, 75% of shell had it and i couldnt leave him there in pet store, he bleed alot and well 3 years later he has only a few marks on shell where shell rot was really bad.

It sounds like Claws was lucky you rescued him!

P4L,
I really like all the pictures of the turtles you've shown us!
The Musk family photo is a great one ... with the kids on top. :)
When I was a small boy I found a little desert tortoise not far from my house.
Took him home thinking I was saving him. Had him for years.
When he got pretty big I donated him to a reptile zoo, where they had several tortoises.
Some of them were enormous.
I was sad to give him up, but glad to see he had plenty of friends to hang out with.
These last few years I've been admiring a couple of RES's that have shown up at a big pond at my work.
One is about 6", the other is at least two inches bigger.
I was thinking about taking them home, but I think I'll leave them wild.
Pin-Stripe has a neat colored shell ... he looks fast standing still!
Sorry to hear that you lost the Musk named Stripe this winter. How did he get his name?

Oh thats easy, stripe has very bright freatures, his yellow stripe on head was very compared to others, also shell is light and has nice markings which you dont see very often.
Glad to say that of the 3 babys one is showing his genes, his shell growth is very light while the other 2 remain dark

"Painteds4life" (I don't know your name, maybe we can call you "turtle guy"), I wanted to ask how you maintain your what 13 turtle aquariums in a reasonable amount of time? With the turtle food and waste, I've been doing 100% weekly cleanings of Tator's 40 gallon tank. Since he's moved to the 120 gallon (but with feedings in the 40 gallon), I've been changing 50% a week in there but there's a nice organic slick on the surface since I didn't do a 100% cleaning. It takes an hour for each of those tanks to clean them. How do you clean your turtle tanks? If you don't do 100% cleanings, aren't they pretty foul like Tator's tank? I made my own filter that's better than any you can buy but it's not going to get 100% of the gunk.

Its not 13 turtle aquariums, It species is kept together in there tanks Its 5 only
I dont know what rule you follow for size but I do 10gallon per 1 inch
And wow i dunno your homemade filter must not be that great I do 100% a month even then it doesnt need it at all, its just to clean algea from ramp and other things, no slim or anything, water is crystal clear always
Fluval FX5 Canister Filter is amazing. I find 3 to 1 or greater keeps tank crystal clear.
Oh smallest tank being 75 gallon takes me like 2 hours or more
