Title: Problem Posting
Description: Internet problems

Since I can no longer do my e-mail at work since they expect me to do the work of 50 people,
I've been doing it at home (giving up my TV time which I miss!). At home recently, Internet Explorer
is not working. The pages either don't load (white screen) or it hangs up. So, I'm using Netscape.
The problem with that is that it makes the pages look totally different.
For example, this reply screen has no auto-return so I have to put breaks in. Some pages
never load. Whenever there's a photo, they overlap and cover the text. It's a real mess. On top
of that, everytime it glitches, I leave and come back and can no longer tell which messages I've
already done without checking each section (which is really slow). I'm just
letting everyone know because I may miss some e-mails or not reply to things I can't see.
Someone posted some photos of turtles, and it's all jumbled. Also, my replies may have
strange breaks in them. I don't know what to do. I will probably have to put on my contact page
that I can no longer answer e-mails which really pains me because it's the only good thing I do
for society.

Robyn, try downloading and using Firefox if you can. I haven't used Explorer for years since I found Firefox. Great browser, fast, everything always looks like it is supposed to, etc. For emails try something like gmail. Works like a charm and gives you huge storage capabilities.
I'm no genious when it comes to ponds, animals, computers...or anything else in life now that I think about it :( , but I know a little about a lot of things. If there is ever anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to give a yell. All I watch on TV is hockey or documentaries, so since hockey is almost over for the season I have free time!
Seriously...

Robyn, I had a problem with Internet Explorer about 2 weeks ago. My problem resembled the ones that you described. I was using IE 6.0. I finally upgraded to 7.0. What I thought was the IE 6.0 exe files were corrupt and since I couldn't re-install I figured the 7.0 would overwrite the files. After the download (which wasn't long for me b/c I am lucky enough to have DSL) and install all my problems were fixed so to speak. I don't know if that is an option for you but I thought I would mention it. I hate using Netscape, it's a real pain and I am not good at starting over.
Good luck.

I second Derrick's suggestion for Firefox, which I use and hear nothing but good things about G-mail.

Thanks guys. I do use Google e-mail. My web site e-mail is forwarded there. As far as updated IE, etc., I'm not allowed to do that since this is my parents computer. My mother reminds me every day that this isn't my house, and I don't live here even though I've been here and no where else for 30.5 years and done most of the chores for the last 20 years. Tonight, IE is working. Yeah for now. Sometime's it works, sometimes not.

Yes I second that! I wish I could have somebody like you around MY house! Me and my mom are the ONLY ones who really do anything as far as cleaning....My dad and brother always keep the house dirty! What's your computer? Windows XP or older....?

My dad would go thru spurts that anything inside the landmarkers was his..no matter what. I learned to shred the garbage early in my life ( especially when I bought and threw out a Playgirl once in awhile. ) Then he'd mellow out when I told him my rent was out of blood and sweat and not your usual cash. Unlike my best friend ( who was always treated as a kid ) I became 10% kid, 90% roommate and he grew out of that and gave me my privacy. OH, and mom always gave him h*** for that.

Windows XP.
I not only do all the chores, I give my parents $600 a month (~25% of my salary). So, I'm not a free loader. My mother likes to root through my stuff but there's nothing juicy to find. I always thought I should leave something incriminating but she'd never believe it.

Im sorry but this made me laugh! I know what your saying...I kinda want to stay with my parents when I get older...BUT they have to gripe everytime I want a new fish or aquarium.....Im half tempted to move in a few years...whenever I CAN! Besides what could your mom find? Pond fertilizer?! OHH!!!! How juicy! LOL!
And I have the next version on my computer (Windows Vista Home Basic) and it came with IE 7 but Im using Firefox 3 beta 4? I REALLY like it!
