Hy im new here and just want to know if it is true that i need to put my blue dragon goby in salt water.

Ive had it in my 140 galon fresh water aquarium for 1 year now and my petshop owner said its gonna die soon if i dont put it in salt water is it true Thanks in advance.

The goby will live much longer in brackish water. I've never had a goby myself.

The last link makes a good point. If you can give the goby a new brackish setup but it's used to the freshwater one, make the change gradually instead of adding a ton of salt all at once. Gobies kept in freshwater setups or with low levels of salt are more apt to have medical problems.

Alrigth thanks homie But the thing is that my dragon looks very healthy (Is it okay if I put in 2 teaspoon of salt in my aquarium every week cause its what ive been doing since I found out and its hurting my fw fish. In my tank I have 1 pearl gourami 4in 1 blue gourami 5in 1 snakeskin gourami 5in 1 male betta, 3 female bettas 10 female guppys 5 male guppys 2 dojo loachs one 7in and one 4in 1 canadian minnow 3in 2 siamese algae eaters 1 brush nose pleco 5 neon tetras and my blue dragon gobby

Most freshwater fish can tolerate a tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons easily and maybe twice that for most fish. The goby needs much more than that.

You add 2 teaspoons per week but how much water do you change weekly? You want to add the amount for the water changed out. How do you know the fish are being harmed by the salt?
