Well, I have started my last two double white lotus seeds and one is starting to germinate. I am determined to see one flower from seed. Too bad my other lotus might have sent up its first flower this summer if the cats wouldn't have killed it after I brought it in last fall :( This year I think I will keep the lotus in a bucket outside the pond.
Has anybody else had luck getting a lotus to flower from seed?
Some 9 years ago, I got a lotus to grow from seed but, once it was big enough to put in the big pond, it died. It never amounted to anything. I have a black thumb. My only lotus that's still alive is 11 years old and hasn't flowered in maybe 8 years! I repot it every two years, fertilize, etc.
