Title: Fish Sighting??
Description: Not 100% Sure
KoiKrazy - April 11, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
My Dad came and banged on my door today and told me he saw two fish in the clay pond!! I said "are you sure?" and he said "YES"!! Of course I went tearing down there and spent over an hour looking but I didn't see anything :-( Darnit!! I want a 100% confirmation from ME! I just CAN'T SEE how they could have overwintered in there??? You can rest assured that I will be spending every single minute I have of everday down there until I see a fish  I will keep you all posted!

The fish need to have liquid water to survive. I bet some fish found a small pocket of liquid water under all that ice. Where there's a will, there's a way.

I agree with Robyn. Could be a deeper ridge somewhere on the bottom, or for some other reason there was an area that didn't freeze completely solid.
I sure hope your Dad is right! How are his eyes? He isn't the type to see a sunken leaf and think it is a fish is he? LOL...although being your dad I am sure he has had lots of time to spend watching fish. Did you get your interest from one of your parents, or come to it all on your own?

Alright KK!!
Sounds like you got some swimmers!!!!!
Maybe they huddled together and all pulled through!
Hopefully you'll start seeing bunches of them. :)

K, did you check your dad's glassed to make sure he didn't have his halloween glasses with the fishy's on? You know how those old folks get, he probably picked up the wrong ones again and put them on! He's old, he doesn't know any better!
Don't tell him I said that!

I don't know!! I just don't know!! But the man is a super fisherman so I am hoping he knows what he saw. When I went down there last night I saw a couple HUGE water bugs. I have no idea how they got that big so fast?? You know those round ones with the 2 legs sticking out of there sides?? (Hey T.....they might be good targets for some tack driving practice ;-)) LOL LOL
Wayne, there are no Koi left in that pond. It was just all my goldfish babies and a couple of sarassa's that I couldn't catch. Time will tell I guess :o

Hi KoiKrazy
I see you have been looking for me.You can run but you can't hide.LOL
I have been very busy but my mind is still on my fish and ponds. The weather here is still a long ways from putting my fish back into the pond. This weekend we had a mix of snow, freezing rain and rain.Winter just will not go away.
I hope your dad did see the fish and you will see them soon.
